At St Augustine's we explore Design and Technology through our Creative Curriculum and topics.

Design and Technology helps the children to develop the skills they need  to perform everyday tasks confidently, to solve problems and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world.

The children will study:

Existing design solutions and their makers.

Design for a purpose - Who will use it? What does it need to do?

Making of a prototype - bringing our design to life.

Evaluation of design - Has their design and prototype met it's purpose? How could it be changed or improved

The children will explore this subject through Engineering, Food Technology and Textile disciplines.

In addition, Food technology, helps the children to understand and apply their knowledge of nutrition and learn how to cook.
